Hi all :D

I've recently bought a Silicon Image 3112 Serial ATA PCI Adapter, and i've installed it on the main desktop, but I'm having a few problems:

First, I've recompiled the kernel (2.4.26-gentoo-r3) and put the suport built in in the kernel. The system hangs on boot.

Second, I've booted with gentoo 2004.1 livecd, and it recognized the SATA disk as /dev/hda, and changing the IDE hdds to /dev/hde and /dev/hdf.

I'v recompilated the kernel, activating "boot first non borad controller" on it, same results.
I'm thinking in getting rid of the IDE hdds and using only the SATA, but the system only recognizes the SATA disk after boot. I need to have a second disck with gentoo, right?

I'm lost, any ideas?

Thanx in advanced
