installing Lexmark Optra E312L

hello!

i've plugged in my printer Lexmark....

but now it doesn't work!

if i start "usbview" i see that on UHCI Host controller is an undermenue with lexmark...

but if i configure my printer with gentoo, it doesn't work!

could someone help me???

LexMark printers are by far one of the least supported printers in Linux/Unix. The only suggestion that I have is to try using CUPS and foomaticdb to create the driver, but there are no guarantees on that either. Check cups' and foomatic's website(s) for instructions/compatibility.

My E312L works fine under cups with the PostScript driver.

(Lexmark does not advertise PostScript support for the E312L, but at least some of them have it. See http://linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-Optra_E312)
