apache -> squid -> zope, eh, so dificult this was

I'm trying to set up a apache->squid->zope server, but it is quite dificult.

I wonder if any of you out there could cast som light on it?

What is squid doing in there ?
And generally, what's your plan. Advice cannot be good on no more knowledge than just the applications involved.
E.g., per se, Zope would be enough for a webserver, but it becomes apparent if you want to use SSL.
So, more info please

I want to use squid and apache as a cache for zope, so i can turn off zope for some time and run it purely trough cache, like www.skolelinux.org is doing
So squid-apache should be a load balancer for zope, since zope is dead slow.

I can understand the combination of Squid-->Zope, but what are you going to benefit if you put Apache in front of Squid? I would put Squid in httpd-accelerator mode, define the Zope server as its backend server and use just those two.
