I am having trouble getting alsa to work.
I am using kernel 2.6.7 with Alsa drivers compiled in. My chipset is VIA82xx specifically VIA 8235. I ahve sound comming out. The problem is that I have no mixer control. Master and Master Mono do nothing. The only channel that does anything is PCM. All I can do with the PCM channel is to mute it. So what am I doing wrong ? Everything is compiled in so its not a question of what modules I forgot to load, I am stumped. Thanks for your help. |

try: amixer set Master on
then mess with Master controls in alsamixer again. |
