this is a new post from an old locked thread, past thread was lock because of massive off-topic posts, please keep this one on topic. thanks
I'm looking for a way to mount a relational database(SQL) as a files system.
I'd like to do this for a number of reasons including having my mp3 collection sorted nicely with metadata, and having portage run off of a database to reduce disk i/o and increase performance.
I con't seem to find any information on this and it seems like it would be an easy thing to implement for a good file system programmer.
mount database, mkdir=make table, copy or create file=make entry and copy data, delete is delete, so on and so forth.
any new ideas on this?

this is not a place to talk beos or related os projects unless an option to port this to gentoo linux is shown. |
