Hi again!
Is it possible to use badram
http://rick.vanrein.org/linux/badram/index.html
with gentoo?
If so, can I use anymore than stage 1 for the kernel installation? I figure faulty RAM will screw up the compilation of stage 2 or 3 installations. |

Bad RAM is pretty much the kiss of death to any Gentoo installation. Your best bet is to buy some RAM that is not bad. |

Yes, badram is usable in gentoo. You need a kernel that supports it though, i.e. love-sources or patch it in yourself (other kernels might have it).
But, I saw in your other post that memtest reported 1000 !!! errors. To have badram working you would have to type in 1000 memory addresses into your kernel parameters in grub or lilo. Really, take cyrillic's advice and get different ram.
And I don't think any livecd has badram support. |

Love-sources has 'bad ram' support, and they have a live cd. Read all about it at:
