|
|
I have emerged dvdbackup, and when I run it nothing happens. All I get is:
Code: | dungeon root # dvdbackup -M -i /dev/sg0 -o ./dvd
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access
|
... and this is with no apparent activity on my dvd drive, no cpu usage by dvdbackup, etc. It just sits like this until I kill it.
I'm fairly certain I'm using the correct device, and I know my drive works, as I've used in in windows on this same machine. I've got scsi emulation support built in, cdrecord-prodvd -scanbus sees my drive:
Code: | scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) 'PLEXTOR ' 'DVDR PX-712A ' '1.00' Removable CD-ROM
|
If anyone has any clue why this is or can lead me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've had similar problems with my DVD ripping script. It turned out to be leftover processes that never exited correctly (like when you ctrl+x) and were still holding on to the dvd drive. Sometimes logging out then back in helped clear all the dead processes I had created or looking through top for these and then issuing "killall <appname> -s 9" |

Anyone else have any ideas? |
