|
|
I have a new Gentoo install with the 2.4.26 vanilla kernel - following the steps in this thread (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=26716). I would have posted under this thread, but it hasn't been updated in months...
The whole point of the box is to become my Wireless Access Point eventually - running Hostap (if i ever get it to work )
I have 2 Nic cards in my machine - 1 Intel EEPro100, and a PCMCIA Senao 2511CD Plus EXT2 - prism1 based chipset. The PCMCIA card is in a dual slot PCMCIA adapter. I can get the cards up manually. If i try to boot with the PCMCIA card, eth0 fails when pcmcia services start, then when it gets to eth1 it says its already started.
What files needed changing/copying to get the dual nic setup to boot properly. or maybe i have them setup within rc-update wrong. The rc-update show prints out:
pcmcia - boot
eth0 - boot
eth1 - default
Anybody got any ideas how to get them both to boot up properly?
Thanks in advance |

I have a 2511CD Plus EXT2 as well, but it doesnt work at all
/etc/init.d/pcmcia start says module memory_cd not found... and when I try hostap-driver, it says no prism device found. Please tell me how you got it working.
I'm on a 2.6.7 kernel. |
