|
|
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 810 printer, which works perfectly with Mandrake Linux but I cannot seem to get it to work with Gentoo. I have followed the directions in the Gentoo Printing guide explicitly, and the printer shows no signs of intending to print anything when I send test pages to it. I cannot imagine what the problem is.
The usblp and usbcore drivers load fine; and I have both CUPS, foomatic and gimp-print installed. |

Thank you for the helpful link, but it has unfortunately not made any difference in my case. Maybe I've done something wrong, so I'll keep working at it when I have enough time. |

I now have an unusual situation:
The printer does not work with Windows (XP Pro) either.
Secondly, the printer does work on my laptop (XP Home).
So now I don't have a clue what to do. |

Success! It now works on Windows and Gentoo. I don't know why it works, but it does. Thank you for your help anyway. |
