I finally got gentoo runniing on my iBook G4 and got X running. However I keep getting errors. For example I get this when I try and emerge kde:

I tried to emerge qt and got the same problem.
I then tried emerge "<qt-3.2" and if failed also.
I grabbed the source directly from qt and compile that and that also failed.
I then tried to emerge gnome and it failed as well. I also had problems emergeing mozilla and firefox. The errors were not the same. I'm completely lost as to what is going wrong. Should I try another compiler? Could something be messed up in a config file or my kernel that will cause this?
I'm really lost here. Should I just try and reinstall gentoo or try another distro? Let me know if any other information that would be usefull. I appreciate any suggestions. |
