i have set up alsa no problem,i can play a sample no problem from the command line .enlightenment complains that EsounD was not present when i compiled enlightenment .do i need to emerge EsounD and recompile enlightenment ?? .any help appreciated thanks

You can probably get away with just emerging EsounD.

You shoeld add "esound" to your use flag, and recompile enlightenment.

Just do a emerge enlightenment, because you're not upgrading anything.
