Hi all,

I've recently been having some lockup problems, forcing me to do a hard reboot, and now it's not turning back on. Last time it froze, Firefox and Thunderbird refused to get focus, and then nothing would open, then the music stopped and eventually the mouse froze. Now, when I rebooted, it's hanging on "Mounting root". I use reiserfs on /, IIRC. I started having the lockup problems when I moved into a dorm with no A/C, so could this be heat related? My mobo claims the proc isn't over 45C.

I just tried Windows XP, and it's hanging too. What could this be??

I'm using an nForce2 board with 2.4.23-win4lin.

I just tried unplugging my CD-ROM drives and the hdd on the RAID controller (being used as normal IDE controllers), and it booted. Still trying to figure out what's wrong. Anyone have ideas?
