|

I recently purchased a PDA. I currently am running KDE 3.2. This pda runs the Windows CE OS. I tried to emerge synce-kde after doing this I got the
error
Calculating dependencies
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "synce-kde" have been masked.
!!! possible candidates are:
- app-pda/synce-kde-0.6.1 (masked by: ~keyword)
- app-pda/synce-kde-0.7.2 (masked by: ~keyword)
So I did ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge synce-kde then I get the
error
dynamite.c:30: error: too few arguments to function `fprintf'
make[2]: *** [dynamite.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/dynamite-0.1/work/dynamite-0.1/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/dynamite-0.1/work/dynamite-0.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2
!!! ERROR: app-pda/dynamite-0.1 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 25, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)
Now I can't get any graphical program to load within a minute. Everything worked great before I did the emerge pda stuff. It take almost 5 min for me to get the Xserver started after I reboot. All my graphical programs die or won't open half the time. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to resolve my problem.

Hi ..
No idea what's going on there .. but a few hints:
1. Check if it's kde that's causing the problem or X in general. Try to start another desktop manager .. e.g. start a simple Xsession and see if it behaves the same.
2. Move your kde home directory to somwhere else .. start kde with a fresh home and see if that solves the problem. (mv ~/.kde3.2 ~/.kde3.2.old) or something like that.
