fluxbox isnt workign :(

i tried upgrading fluxbox a while back and now when i try to start it i get errors

Did your search results miss rac's reference in this thread?

Have you modified /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/fluxbox ?

Your keyboard seems to be having some issues with n and g being reversed too No new posts fluxbox isnt workign

its not an issue starting x ... gnome and other window managers start just fine. it was only after upgrading fluxbox that this started and it is exclusive to flux ... chmodding the /tmp directory didnt help either

Permissions on /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/fluxbox are OK? Contents of the same file are only /usr/bin/fluxbox ?

what are the permissions on teh file supposed to be? ... yes /usr/bin/fluxbox is all that in the file

-rwxr-xr-x are set on my system. If your not having any diskspace issues I'm out of ideas.

same permissions here ... no problems with diskspace. i have tried unmerging fluxbox and remerging it ..... any other ideas?

Thought I'd already suggested this, but are there any errors in logs under /var/log (XFree, xdm, anything that looks related)?

no errors that look like anything ... i am gonna try an emerge -e world and hope that links everything back where it needs to be ill let ya know how it goes.
