I just installed gentoo for the first time yesterday and now my internet drops every few minutes. It takes 20-30 seconds before it goes back on again, sometimes longer. When it is down It is down I cannot even connect to my router. It is fine on all the rest of the computers in my house.

Are you using an IP address already assigned to another machine?

Maybe it's a bad cable? What's your general network setup?
