I had a related question actually. After doing some searching, I still couldn't find any explanation of what the extensions flag in iptables meant. After using "euse -i extensions" I still had no idea what it meant, and now am wondering what "3rd patch-o-matic extensions" are. Some help would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem when I moved to 2.6.7

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=187556&highlight=iptables+2+6+7 has a link to a patch for the ebuild and a line to comment out of the ebuild file.
