i just got done installing gentoo. when i rebooted i encountered several errors. gentoo said that i was missing kernel or user mode driver for sata_sil and i810_audio. after that it continued booting for a few more seconds only to stop on starting local....
any suggestions?
oh yeah, i should say that i didn't install linux onto a SATA HDD but i have windows xp on a SATA HDD. gentoo is on a seperate IDE HDD. also, it is a single SATA drive, i'm not running any raid configurations.
i also would like to be able to boot windows from grub, but i'm not sure of what procedure i need to go through to get gentoo to recognize the SATA HDD. |

Have you tried recompiling your kernel with SATA and the intel audio support? |

i don't have intel audio, i have onboard realtek AC'97. and i don't think that gentoo recognises my SATA drive as SATA, i'm pretty sure it thinks it is hdb. |
