I get "Invalid module format" when I try to load the nvidia kernel module, say, with modprobe. I recently built a 2.6.7-r8 kernel, then re-emerged nvidia-kernel. The emerge seemed to go fine. Now it is broke and I am stuck using the Xfree driver. Any thoughts? Time for a bug report?

If someone sees this tread:

If i use gcc 3.4 and emerge nvidia-kernel, then i get a "invalid module format"
it works with gcc 3.3.
