I was thinking about getting this to use my PS2(or x...they're the same) controller in linux for PSX, SNES, and GBA roms....how easy is this and what do I need to emerge and add in my kernel to get it working?

I have a simular PS2>USB converter, and I just had to add support for HID under usb (you probably have that one already for usb-mouse/keyboard/etc) and joystick interface under input device support. I'm not sure about force feedback though..

I believe there is a more extensive link on this topic in the Gamer and Players forum (here on gentoo.org). The basic gist of the radio-shack converter is that it works fine unless you want dance-pad functionality. Dance-pad compatability is much more finicky, and requires a 'better' adapter.
