@McMosi
i think, this is related to older nvidia opengl headers (nvidia-glx).
you should update your drivers (nvidia-glx&nvidia-kernel) to the neweset version (6106).
i had similar problems with doomlegacy&kdeartwork ,
which has been solved with the new drivers.

well, if you don't want to update, do it the way as "unix" said before.
Code:
opengl-update xfree/xorg-x11 && emerge kdeartwork && opengl-update nvidia

[EDIT]-> https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15195[/EDIT]

@unix
sorry, da weiss ich auch nix, zeit für nen bugreport?

Hi borisdigital

Are you sure about the version 6106 of the drivers? I have it installed, but I cannot compile the kdeartwork 3.3.0-beta1 without doing the trick with opengl-update.

i just compiled kdeartwork-3.2.3 successfully using nvidia drivers 1.0.6106.

i'll try to build the new kde alpha tonight or tomorrow, so can't
tell you more at this point of time (sorry).

how did you install your nvidia-drivers? i recommend to unmerge older drivers
and use the original installer from nvidia, i had some funny glx-related errors
when using the nvidia-glx ebuild (for example older versions of nvidia-glx didn't uninstall correctly)

I used the ebuild for the nvidia drivers (see code), but I didn't unmerged the old drivers (I should try it).

Code:

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge nvidia-kernel nvidia-glx

It's the whole evening I'm playing with kde 3.3 beta 1 and it's really nice, speedy and even stable. Try it and enjoy it :-)

@borisdigital
Thanks. Then there is probably a local problem when using the ebuild for nvidia-glx and opengl-update nvidia. I will scan the forums and the bugs first. I'm sure somebody else already hit it.
