|
|
Hi, I've installed hotplug to mount my USB key(s) automatic when I plug the key to my computer.
It works fine when I plug it in, but the script that should be run when I unplug the key doesn't execute.
I first thought I had made a error in my scripts but then I tried to install the 2.4.26 kernel and then it worked perfectly. Does hotplug not work with 2.6.x or have I forgotten something?
Any suggestions? |

Which kernel, exactly, are you using?
There have been a number of issues with hotplug in kernels past 2.6.5. I know that mm-sources has had this problem lately, but others may as well. I am not sure about vanilla-sources.
It is not so much that the script does not excute, but that it hangs when it tries to execute. _________________ Teilo who is called Teilo |

I'm pretty sure it's gentoo-dev-sources (2.6.7).
uname -r says 2.6.7-gentoo-r8.
Do you think it would help if I used vanilla instead? |

I've just tried development-sources (vanilla 2.6) but it doesn't work.
But I used the same .config as in my gentoo-dev-source. |

Never mind. It works now.
I created a /var/run/usb directory which solved the problem. Strange since the dir was there just yesterday and the script didn't work... |
