When I try to go to XMMS's preferences, I get this:

I love XMMS but if I can't change the output plug-in then it has to go (whatever plugin it uses by default hangs a lot).

EDIT: I forgot to add that this is 1.2.10, but I unmerged this version and tried 1.2.9 as well but had the same problem.

This is certainly wierd. XMMS uses OSS output plugin by default. Is there something wierd in your USE flags?

Do you want to use alsa or oss?

I wanted to change the output plugin, just to see if I get XMMS to work better. Here is my make.conf:

# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically built this stage
# Please consult /etc/make.conf.example for a more detailed example
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -ftracer -fprefetch-loop-arrays"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
USE="3dnow alsa arts avi cdr dvd dvdr emacs esd gif -gtk gtk2 java joystick jpeg kde mozilla mysql oggvorbis opengl oss pdflib perl png tiff X xmms x86 -gnome"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"
PORTAGE_NICENESS=19

I just emerged Gtuxness and this happens to it as well. Also, I would like to add that I used these same USE flags on my desktop PC and it works.

Well I fixed it. I downgraded GTK+-1.2.10 from -r11 to -r10 and now it works.

Thanks.
