Hello. Forgive me for being out of the loop on this one but how are we compiling Firefox with SSL these days? Last I remember the patch located at http://geki.ath.cx/hacks/mozilla-firefox-ebuild.patch had it. But after applying that and building I get the following:
Code:
!!! ERROR: app-office/openoffice-1.9.125.1.2 failed.
!!! Function pkg_setup, Line 148, Exitcode 1
!!! Set ssl useflag for mozilla-firefox!
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.
Below is the obligatory system information. If too much let me know and I'll scrap it :)
Code:

on a sort-of related note, sun's StarOffice 8 java installer sucks fist-sized balls

more importantly just had to comment this ebuild has come along quite nicely since i last tried it, great work

Edit: 'Cause I'm using firefox 1.0.7 now, which doesn't have ssl flag support.
Went back to 1.0.6 and it doesn't complain about ssl firefox anymore, it just dies elsewhere instead! :)
Cheers,
-c

Greetings,

How does one build firefox with ssl again?
I do not want mozilla, but need to have something, so have to have firefox, but to have firefox need ssl.. :?

I did compile 1.9.24 just fine, but now can't remember!

Cheers,
-c

I see there is an official openoffice-2.0.0_rc2 ebuild in portage.
does this mean that this thread will end? Or can we expect some future ebuilds.
I really liked the idea of compiling openoffice with gcj and the official ebuild does not support that.

well, i will build my ebuilds on milestones as stable or unstable they are.
as long as ooo-build will offer tarballs.
in portage or suka's overlay you see stable versions and useflags.
which i do not mind for.
as a result you got more useflags and newer versions.

but at the moment i got some important private problems to solve first. :?

right now i am drunk so no idea if my writing does any sense. :o

have fun!

Thanks! :)

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here but your nspr and nss installed fine, but openoffice doesn't seem to see them?

m136 will be buildable with sun-jdk-1.5.x.
at least seems to... :o

and may be with jdk-1.3.1 again. i listened there were issues. lets see...

edit non-java builds seem to be broken anyway.

module - desc
officecfg - no non-java alternative scripts for build
filter - python script is broken
...who knows whats more

Ok thx.

btw, does openoffice not need firefox ssl anymore? patched 1.0.7-r3 and it doesn't appear to have ssl useflag?
