USB mouse won't move.
USB support is enabled in kernel, as is USB HID support.
also enabled is UHCI (sp?, not OHCI).
the XF86Config is good -- came from a previous install and i had mouse then.
cat /dev/input/mice gives nothing.
mouse is plugged in and moving mouse will turn on the led on the mouse.
dmesg | grep usb shows the mouse being detected.
hotplug installed and run at boot.
the issue is that the mouse won't move in X.
more info:
Redeeman Sources 9 -- 2.6.7
USB mouse.
can't post config files until i can figure out how to operate fluxbox without a mouse...
Again, the XF86Config is correct. i've tryed /dev/psaux (the one that worked best in the past) as well as /dev/mouse . Also, the corepointer is set to Mouse1. since cat /dev/input/mice gives nothing, i'm assuming the problem is in the kernel but i have no idea where. the other posts i've seen have said to turn on UHCI and OHCI off (done) and that didn't work on the other posts either...
so what info do i need to give you, or what is the solution to the no-mouse issue. |

ive ran into this before... check in the /dev directory see if you can find something like this (sounds like you have the kernel configured right):
/dev/input/mouse0
/dev/input/mouse
/dev/mouse0
/dev/mouse
and try to cat one (or any) of those to see if you can see mouse input. Then, update your XF86Config file to reflect that path. _________________

is -redeeman9 based on -mm6/-mm7?

[...] The USB update seems deadlocky. I fixed one bug but it still causes my ia64 test box to lock up on boot. If it goes bad, please revert usb-locking-fix.patch and the revert bk-usb.patch. Retest and send a report to linux-kernel and linux-usb-devel@lists.sourceforge.net |
if so, so may want to try this
