|
|
I am trying do do a clean 2004.1 install on my Compaq Presario 2100 (XP-m 2200, 512 DDR, Integrated ATI U1 Graphics) notebook. I boot up the minimal live cd and do the default kernel.
Loading gentoo...
Loading gentoo.igz...
Ready.
Then the screen goes black.
I tried gentoo nofb and smp, and I get the same results for the loading but no Ready.
Smp nofb gets a Ready but still a blank screen.
I also tried using agpgart on all those which gives the same results with no Ready except a ready on the smp nofb agpgart.
Any ideas?
Thanks |

Hmm, dont know if this will work or not. But I sometimes have better luck booting with knoppix. You should be able to install Gentoo from knoppix.

Thanks for the idea. Guess I'll have to try that, unless anyone has a way to do it with the CD?
