Hello all,
Have just finished my first gentoo install from a stage1 tarball. Networking worked fine during the install - my xircom card was recognised and the correct module loaded (xirc2ps_cs.o) - but have had a problem with it since the first reboot.
Basically all the modules seem to loaded fine. (i've added pcmcia_core,, i82365, ds & xirc2ps_cs to /etc/modules.autoload). cardmgr starts fine too (using CARDMGR_OPTS="-f" option in /etc/conf.d/pcmcia). however during boot i get...
Code: |
loading pcmcia_core......................ok
loading i82365...........................ok
loading ds...............................ok
loading xirc2ps_cs.......................ok
starting pcmcia.....
cardmgr watching 2 sockets...............ok
bringing eth0 up
SIOCSIFADDR: no such device
eth0 unknown interface... |
+ 4 other v. similar lines.
Any ideas anyone? _________________ Is this my Signiature? |

Remove xirc2ps_cs from modules.autoload.
cardmgr will load this mod & tie it to eth0 auto*magically.
Otherwise, you'll need to code the device binding into modules.dep & modules.conf _________________ Mike
