i remember when i was using GNOME and KDE in a previous installation of FreeBSD there were options to set screensavers. im using fluxbox now on gentoo and was wondering how i could set screensavers to go off every 10 minutes instead of turning the screen black?

Start xscreensaver with: xscreensaver --nosplash
when you start your X session, put it in your .xinitrc for example.

xscreensaver --demo iirc to choose your options.

Yep.

x11-misc/xscreensaver

I haven't got it installed so the syntax of the commands I gave may be slightly out, I'm working from memory. Have a look at the man page when you've installed it. I think the other poster has a better memory than me ;-)

I Want to get rid of the fuction turning my screen black after awhile, i want it turned on ALWAYS.
This is due to statistic / log programs always needed to be seen even when not using that computer...
