I'm not finding the option for the synaptics driver in gentoo-dev-sources, either version 2.6.5-r1 or 2.6.7-r10. I used to see this under character devices, but now it's not showing up anywhere, either with menuconfig or when I look in the actual .config file. Does this make sense to anyone? |

I'm not sure, but I think that though it used to be listed as a config option, it's now included regardless of what options you choose (mine works just fine). Just make sure you have PS2 mouse support built in, and the synaptics driver should work. Just follow the directions included with X for getting the driver to work. _________________ "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately."

That makes sense. It started working the last time I restarted, although I have no idea why. Previously, cat /proc/bus/input/devices didn't show the touchpad, and now it does. Ah well... |
