The subject says it all. I just switched to 2.6 and now when hotplug loads my consol font dissapears. All I see is the cursor. I can type my u/p and type kdm and get into KDE, but it's annoying and will suck on the day X decides to take a crap.
I have an HP pavilion ze5000s. |

I had the same problem with an Compaq evo n800v. I solved it by deactivating pci hotpluging (remove /etc/hotplug/pci.rc), because hotplug loaded the radeon framebuffer module that borked the screen.
