For some time now I've been getting weird behavior with the touchpad on my laptop (hp ze4630us), but alas I can't remember which level of kernel and/or xorg where this started. I haven't found anything matching here or in google.

If I scroll rapidly across a page in firefox that has a lot of links, the linked page will open as though I had issued a left-click. Does anyone have a clue what might account for this?

I'm currently using kernel development-sources-2.6.9_rc4, xorg--x11-6.7.0-r2, and mozilla-firefox-1.0-r3, but the behavior is not specific to these software levels. The problem also occurs with konqueror, so I'm pretty sure that firefox has nothing to do with this.

TIA,

---

An additional thought. I've never used anything special for the touchpad, just this since day one:

Section "InputDevice"

Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
EndSection
