Hi All,
I see from around the traps that on 2.6 based kernels one can now do ATAPI based burning (instead of SCSI). I have recently purchased a LITEON SOHW-812S (DRD burner) and a 5.25" USB 2.0 case.
I'm just wodering what are the options for getting this working? I have it running with scsi emulation now, which I assume the how it was meant to eb done on 2.4 based kernels..
Cheers,

Hmm, why is there any problem?
As long as it works (it works for me with an GSA-4120B with an Genesys-Case after patching USB-Storage(Link))
. I think external Storage is always handled by SCSI-emulation.

No problem, I was just wondering if there was any way to offload some more CPU during writing like when you turn DMA mode on for IDE devices..
In Linux CPU tends to be higher when using my setup than on windows.. I was aware that burning over ATAPI had been enabled (and thus decreased the CPU load) in 2.6 kernels and was wondering if there were any other inroads made for usb based devices.. |
