Everytime i start an

emerge -uD world
my system wants to replace transcode. If 0.6.11 is installed, portage wants to update it to 0.6.12 and vice versa. How can I find out which of my installed apps needs transcode?

Try
Code:
qpkg --query-deps --installed  media-video/transcode-0.6.11

You'll need to emerge gentoolkit if you don't already have qpkg.

Hi, I'm guessing you have k3b installed. You can either mask out the higher version of transcode or alter the k3b ebuild to support the new version of transcode. The latest version of trancode breaks k3b's dvd ripping though.

You can read more about it here. There's also a bug report.

That's all assuming you have k3b of course.
