I've got a really annoying problem. Everytime I try to play certain games, such as raptor2, in fullscreen mode my monitor goes to standby (i.e. blanks) and won't come back. Ctrl+alt+backspace, ctrl+z, ctrl+c, ctrl+alt+f1, q, esc -- none of them do anything. I can tell my computer is still responsive because if I'm logged in as root on my home terminal (ctrl+alt+f1) and I blindly type "pkill raptor" the game's music stops, so it is apparently executing that command, but I still don't get my screen back! Restarting X via kill X && startxfce4 (or even just startx) in the same blind manner does nothing, and since my monitor won't turn on, I can't see the output. The only way I get my monitor back is by restarting. EVERYTHING else works just fine except this one problem. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Here are my specs that I think could be relevant:
X - xorg-x11 6.7.0-r1
Kernel - 2.6.6
Video Card - ATI 9600 Pro
Monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 192N
