|
|
I have decided to install gentoo 1.4_rc1 on my sytem and got a bit confused when I went to the ftp site and saw all the tarballs. I have a 950 mhz Duron processor and want to know if I use the Athlon tarball or the athlon.tbird tarball?
I didnt see an explanation in the install docs.
Thanks

Duron isn't a TBird, is it? Go with Athlon tarball. _________________ Gekka |

the duron is a tbird with less cache. go with tbird.
edit: and if you have the newer duron with morgan core, go with athlon xp. |

thanks for the reply.....
I thought that the duron was the same as the tbird but with less cache however, I just finished building gentoo 1.4 with the simple athlon stuff. the CFLAGS looked the same so it didnt seem to make a difference. It was kinda fun rebuilding it again. Of course my husband thinks I am crazy.....trying different WMs this time.
Thanks again |
