I haven't used gentoo for almost a year do to lack of time but I want to install it now for the summer. I will be dual booting but I remember there was shotty support for ntfs last year. Has this improved because i want to ahve a partition that I can share between windows and gentoo. Can i safely use ntfs or should i use fat32. Sorry i didn't really search if this is an obvious answer. I don't have a lot of time at this second. |

The read support for NTFS seems to be working well now. There is also write support, but it only supports overwriting existing files.

To clarify, it only supports changing existing files without changing their size. In other words, write support is mostly useless. Use FAT32 if you need a partition to share with Windows. |
