Hey! I have a bit older computer, a dell dimension xps-r450, which i've installed gentoo upon. Now I'm trying to get the sound to work properly. With the computer came a Turtle-Beach Montego. What am I supposed to enable in the kernel to get alsa to work? Only the sound-card support, but no modules? I find nothing that mentions montgo in there..

I've tried to follow the gentoo alsa-docs, and everything seems to work, but when i try to start amixer in the last step:

amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory

and modprobe snd-au8830 (which i believe is the driver i should use to montego?)
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/sound/pci/au88x0/snd-au8830.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/sound/pci/au88x0/snd-au8830.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/sound/pci/au88x0/snd-au8830.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/sound/pci/au88x0/snd-au8830.o: insmod snd-au8830 failed

insmod snd-au8830 gives me this:

What should I do?

[edit]
Oh right, it's a PCI-card, not an ISA.

The driver might also be au8820. Also, make sure the soundcore module is loaded
