|
|
Hi all,
I accidently deleted my settings menu from KDE. I cannot figure out how to get it back for the life of me. KDE's menu system makes no sense what-so-ever.
Can anyone assist? I tried deleting my .kde3.2 and .local and starting KDE back up but that did not restore it.
Thanks,

No, that's for finding other applications. I need to restore the K menu. _________________ Tell your ISP to support SPF/SASL AUTH (http://spf.pobox.com) today! |

I can, but that doesn't allow me to restore my menu item. _________________ Tell your ISP to support SPF/SASL AUTH (http://spf.pobox.com) today! |

You could also recreate this menu with kmenuedit.
To help you, I've the following apps in Settings:
Change Password = kdepasswd
Configure the Panel = kcmtaskbar
Control Center = kcontrol -caption "%c" %i %m
Desktop Settings Wizard = kpersonalizer -caption "%c" %i %m
Menu Editor = kmenuedit
Menu Updating Tool = kappfinder
Printing Manager = kcmshell printmgr
Wallet Management Tool = kwalletmanager %u
Of course you'll have to search the icons and so...
Hope this can help you |

I have the same problem.
There is a problem recreating the Settings menu using kmenuedit. In kmenuedit it shows up but they are still missing on the KDE menu.
I also tried copying the settings from /usr/lib/kde3.2/share/applnk/Settings folder to the .kde/share/applnk/Settings folder but the settings still don't show up. |

I've decided KDE's menu setup is a freakin joke and it doesn't appear to be documented ANYWHERE. _________________ Tell your ISP to support SPF/SASL AUTH (http://spf.pobox.com) today! |
