Alright I am having a lot of issues with this new 2004.1 stage 1 stuff. I went and tried to use the new Live CD but that wouldn't find my network card so I went back and used the older 2004.0 live cd. I went downloaed the stage 1 tar extracted it everythign was cool witht he md5sum etc. Next I went to create my make.conf file and there is nothign there. There is no /mnt/gentoo/etc folder at all. So great now I can't do that nor can I do the recolv.conf thing. So then I say ok I will skip that for now. So then I got to do the chroot thing and it can;t find /bin/bash so now I can chroot to where I need to go I can't continue the install and its really kickda ticking me off any suggestions?
I am using the following stage file: stage1-x86-2004.1.tar.bz2 and I downlaoded it from 2 different sources. |

Are you sure you extracted it to the right place? Is everything else that you might expect there? _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |

Yup, when you extract it you have to be in the /mnt/gentoo directory. _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |
