ALSA - Ensoniq ES1371 statics

hi,

I finished installing KDE. I compiled in the kernel (2.6.7..) and in the ALSA section I enabled the Ensoniq card 1371.
I then installed alsa utilities. When I start-up kde, I have in the background statics and am not able/do not know how to remove it.
Is there something wrong with my embeded sound card? Should I disable it and install a PCI soundblaster Live! sound card instead?

Can someone please tell me what is happening and see if there is something to do to identify what's is wrong so that it can be fixed?

FYI: When I boot-up with the livecd of suse, I get the same statics.
