all of a sudden im getting errors when running vi on any file. It throws me one of these guys:

But will let me continue into the file by hitting enter. Keep in mind it is doing this on *any* file I try to open. Any ideas? Thanks!

Looks like your .viminfo file is somehow broken. Just remove it

This helped me as well. A recent emerge or something must have borked this -- it just started happening in the last week or so for me.
