How to exclude specific packages from prelinking?

I want to prelink my system but I hear Wine becomes unstable when prelinked. I use Wine/WineX quite a bit for gaming. Is there anyway to exclude the wine package from prelinking?

My understanding is that Wine cannot be prelinked, so even if you run prelink it will not prelink Wine stuff. But to make sure, just follow the instruction in the Gentoo Prelink Howto as it tells you how to mask directories.
