I hope I'm using the right term for this subject heading. Just compiled 2.4.26-r6 and when I hold down a key it about half a second between reads on what key is pressed on the keyboard and the console printing that key. Is there some setting in /dev or in the kernel itself that controls the polling of the keyboard buffer?

it turned out it wasn't the kernel X is giving me issues after it Xits and thats where my problem lies.
