Why such a delay in Gnome 2.6.2 being marked as stable?

Any idea whats holding up Gnome 2.6.2 being marked as stable?

Keep in mind that they haven't managed to even get 2.6.1 stable yet.

I though gnome used the same numbering as kernel, i.e. odd numbers testing, even numbers are stable???

It does, ie. 2.4.* is stable, 2.5.* is development, and 2.6.* is stable. The next unstable branch will be 2.7.

OK, but 2.6.1 isn't unstable (because of .1), in otherwords it is only minor, not *really* minor numbers.
