i took out my 3com PCI NIC and enabled my onboard NIC (Marvel on a ASUS P4P800 SE). the network works fine when i connect to machines on my LAN. i can SSH and other machines can SSH into me. but the problem is that i can't get to the internet.
i can't ping sites via either the name nor the IP address. i'm behind a router and tracepath -n shows that it ends at the router (192.168.0.1).
keep in mind that i didn't change any of the config files and they were working with the 3COM. plus the card works in Windows.
any ideas? thank you very much!
EDIT: i should add that the onboard NIC is gigabit whereas the 3COM was 100MBs. i dunno if that matters... |
