I am using the dev kernel 2.6.8-r2 and have emerged the new nvidia-kernel and -glx. The problem is, I can start X as root, but not as non-root user...!!!??? Is this not the weirdest thing? Is there someone who can shed some light on my situation and help me get this thing going? I get the splash screen as non-root, but also get the same output as when I run as root, so I am REALLY Confused!! _________________ "Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth." -- John F. I think that you could cure this by setting your def. runlevel to five. Thats a bit of a work around though. Have you checked the permissions on Xwrapper yet? Maybe they are off... _________________ The realOTW: http://forums.realotw.org/index.php
