maybe you should be looking at plug n play in the kernel, seems more of a plug n play kind of thing _________________ I will not fear.

have a look at /etc/hotplug/usb.usermap. It's setup just like /etc/hotplug/usb.distmap but it is for adding support for your own devices.
Are you using usbfs?

this is my /etc/hotplug/usb.usermap:
# usb module match_flags idVendor idProduct bcdDevice_lo bcdDevice_hi bDeviceClass bDeviceSubClass bDeviceProtocol bInterfaceClass bInterfaceSubClass bInterfaceProtocol driver_info
ALL that is just one line in the file.
Yes i am using usbfs |

yes, under that you need to then add a line for your device that you want hotplug to autoload for you. have a look at /etc/hotplug/usb.distmap for examples. As for all of the information that it wants you to enter I'm not sure where you would find all of it but you might be able to find it somewhere in /proc/usb. Sorry I'm not more help, but I have never done this before. Just hope that my advice is getting you closer to your goal.
