Hello,

maybe someone could help me out with this small problem. I tried to get my Promise RAID1 Mirror to work with device-mapper. Along RAID0 Stirpped Linux/Windows no problems so I tried nearly same config because i use also Windows and Linux on the mirrored RAID.

devmap looks like this
Code:

0 80043264 mirror core 1 1024 2 /dev/hde 0 /dev/hdg 0

but when i try to create the device using dmsetup I get following error
Code:
device-mapper ioctl cmd 3 faild: device or resource busy

So far I dont know what to do to get it working right...The striped Raid on my other PC using device-mapper works perfect. Any hints and comments are welcome..maybe someone has expirience with RAID1 Mirror setup on device-mapper

Thanks for help

Sorry for not answering to your question, but i'm wondering if it is possible now to boot a 2.6 kernel from a RAID0 created & driven by ICH5R-Intel-BIOS (aka iswraid on 2.4) ? I found some traces in your patch against udev 0.25. Can you explain this a little bit more? Actually i have three partitions (XP & linux with kernel 2.4 & linux swap) on this SATA-RAID0 (Mainboard Asus P4C800-E Deluxe).

Hi, hi have a RAID0 on a ICH5-R raid too. I am using dmraid.
I can see the partitions, but I don't have the nodes for mount it.
I need to create with dmsetup?
