|
|
After finally taking the time to reclaim some space from Windows, I installed NWN following the instructions on Bioware's site (I'd heard some bad things about the ebuild).
All seems to go well, game enters, shows the menu, but exits without an error message when:
- Accessing the advanced video options
- Accessing the sound options
- Entering a map (after loading the map, when the image is supposed to appear).
I've tried:
- Editing the nwn script to remove the "lib" directory from the path, in order to use my Gentoo SDL library
- ATI Drivers 3.2.8 and 3.7.0
- Internal driver and kernel AGP
- Messing with the permissions to the point of setting everything 777 (fixinstall always reports everything AOK)
I don't know what else to do... I'm using gentoo-sources 2.6.2-r1. _________________ Sérgio @ Portugal

Just to let everyone know, I fixed it by making the huge resources download and installing from there instead of copying the files from a Windows install. _________________ Sérgio @ Portugal

Ah, since you have that, can you please tell me what the differences between the huge download and the windows install are? I don't really want to download something that big and i'm having the same problem _________________ I am SPAM, hear me roar.

Olá,
This is typical of not running the "fixinstall" script in the NeverWinterNights directory. It fixes permissions of files and changes the capitalisation of filenames you brought in from Windows... |
