Hi
I got my aureal card running a while back by downloading the latest drivers from cvs. Most of the times there havn't been any serious issues, so I did my best to create some
The problem comes from when I downloaded the "small-frag" patch from aureal sourceforge. The patch enables progams to set the buffer lenght, ie WineX.
I applied the patch with : patch -i small-frag.patch to the (CVS) sources, it works fine. The problem is when I try to do make, brakes with:
from /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r9/build/include/linux/smp_lock.h:16,
from au_vortex.h:59,
from au_audio.c:49:
/usr/include/asm/hw_irq.h: In function `x86_do_profile':
/usr/include/asm/hw_irq.h:201: structure has no member named `processor'
make: *** [au_audio.o] Error 1
The unpatched sources wont compile either...
I think the problem has something to do with the fact that I've allready got the unpatched modules running

Given this breaks in smp_lock.h I'd bet you need to change your option in the makefile for SMP (Multi-Processor) configuration. Do you have dual CPU's? If not make sure you are not running the SMP in the makefile. If you do have two CPU's you might check to ensure that the SMP option is enabled. Then try building it again to see how that goes.
