basically, i can't load the i2c_dev module.

FATAL: Error inserting i2c_dev (/lib/modules/2.6.7-gentoo-r6/kernel/drivers/i2c/i2c-dev.ko): Input/output error

this, of course, precludes any sensors from working.
any ideas?

| FWIW I don't load i2c-dev and my sensors work fine. |
